Green Navigation at «Environmental Monitoring: An Exploratory Workshop»

We are proud to share the recent participation of our team members, David Gómez-Ullate and Daniel Precioso, at the «Environmental Monitoring: An Exploratory Workshop.» The event, hosted by the prestigious Royal Spanish Academy of Sciences (RAC), brought together experts in environmental science and maritime transportation to tackle ecological challenges faced by the blue economy and explore innovative weather routing solutions.

David Gómez-Ullate, our founder, kicked off the workshop with a captivating keynote presentation. He introduced the audience to the fascinating world of weather routing, covering essential topics such as required data, models, and optimization methods. His talk provided a broad perspective on the history and economic implications of this groundbreaking technology, inspiring all attendees to envision a greener and more sustainable maritime industry.

Our lead data scientist, Daniel Precioso, took the stage to present his revolutionary Hybrid Search algorithm. Addressing Zermelo’s Navigation Problem, Daniel showcased how mathematics plays a significant role in enhancing navigation capabilities for the ecological transition in maritime transportation. Real-world examples demonstrated the powerful impact of his approach, highlighting the potential for a greener and more efficient future in the blue economy.

These inspiring presentations from our Green Navigation team members left a lasting impression on the audience, paving the way for future collaborations and groundbreaking solutions in environmental monitoring and sustainability.
