Green Navigation at Navalia 2024

Green Navigation presented its maritime decarbonization solution at Navalia 2024 in Vigo, one of Spain’s leading shipbuilding and maritime industry events. The event brought together shipyards, naval engineers, technology providers, and industry decision-makers from across the country.

On May 21st, our team introduced Green Navigation to professionals working at the core of maritime operations. We demonstrated how weather routing and environmental data can support maritime decarbonization without requiring retrofitting or major operational changes.

In addition, a group of IE University students joined us to pitch the project. They presented Green Navigation directly to shipbuilders and technical experts. This experience allowed them to work on a real maritime innovation project and engage with industry stakeholders in a professional setting.

Navalia provided a strong platform for discussing the future of maritime decarbonization in Spain. Many conversations focused on fuel efficiency, emissions reduction, and digital tools that can deliver immediate impact. Our platform addresses these challenges by optimizing vessel routes using wind, wave, and ocean current data. Depending on vessel type and route, this approach can reduce fuel consumption by 5 to 10 percent.

Events like Navalia confirm that maritime decarbonization requires collaboration between industry, academia, and technology developers. Green Navigation will continue working with partners across the sector to accelerate practical, data-driven solutions for cleaner shipping.
